Celebrating All Forms of Motherhood

Motherhood doesn’t look the same for everyone — and that’s what makes it so extraordinary.

This Mother’s Day (and every day), I want to honor the many forms motherhood takes, and the women who show up in love, sacrifice, and strength in their own beautiful ways.

This one’s for you.

To the New Mom

A mother holding her baby close while looking out a window, capturing a tender moment of love and connection.

You’re learning as you go, piecing together days and nights with very little sleep and a whole lot of heart. You may not always feel confident yet, but you’re doing better than you think.

Every cuddle, every tear wiped, every lullaby hummed — it matters.

You are enough, even when it feels like you’re just figuring it out minute by minute.

To the Single Mom

A woman smiling joyfully with two boys, embracing each other outdoors in a green setting.

You carry worlds on your shoulders — working, nurturing, providing, loving. You make impossible things happen, often without anyone seeing the behind-the-scenes sacrifices you make daily.

You are strength personified, and you deserve to be celebrated loudly and unapologetically.

To the Grandmother

A joyful grandmother and a young child sharing a loving moment, smiling close together.

You are the steady hands, the soft voice, the keeper of family stories and the maker of traditions. Your love is deep, wide, and often unspoken — but always felt.

Your impact stretches far beyond what you can see.

You are a living legacy.

To the Mother Figure

A joyful elderly woman with gray hair wearing a purple sweater smiles warmly while embracing a young man with a beard, who is wearing a gray shirt. They seem to share a moment of love and connection.

Maybe you didn’t give birth, but you have poured your heart into nurturing, guiding, and loving others as if they were your own.

You prove that motherhood isn’t defined by biology — it’s defined by compassion, presence, and endless love.

You are just as much a mother as anyone else.

To the Mom Who Feels Overlooked

A mother sitting on a bed with a distressed baby in her arms, looking contemplative and concerned.

If you’re walking through this season unseen or underappreciated, know this: Your efforts matter. Your love matters.

Even when it feels like no one notices — God sees you.

Your work in the hidden spaces is sacred.

To the Moms Who Are Grieving

Two women embrace in a moment of support, one with her face in her hand displaying distress, while the other leans in closely providing comfort.

Whether you’re grieving the loss of a child, a mother, or the dreams of motherhood — you are not forgotten.

Your heart, your bravery, and your willingness to keep loving in the midst of pain is a testament to the resilience of motherhood itself.

You are held in love today.

Final Thought

Motherhood doesn’t fit neatly into one box.

It’s layered, sacred, exhausting, beautiful, and fierce.

Today, and every day, we celebrate you — in whatever stage or form your motherhood journey takes.

You are doing holy, beautiful work.

And you are deeply, deeply loved.

Happy Mother's Day

A mother smiling and standing with her two children in a garden, surrounded by blooming flowers. The mother is wearing a floral dress and a light jacket, while the children are dressed in collared shirts and slacks.
A woman standing with two boys, one on each side. The woman wears a floral dress and smiles, while the boys display playful poses. The background shows a light-colored wall and a mirror.
A mother sitting on a floral couch with her two children, all smiling. The mother is wearing a colorful dress and floral headpiece, while one child is dressed in a white shirt and bow tie, and the other in a sport shirt and pants.

I’d love to hear: Who is one woman you want to celebrate this Mother’s Day?

Drop her name or share a short story in the comments — let’s lift each other up in honor and gratitude.

With love,
